Know me

David Serrano, as he is known in the gastronomic world, although his full name is David Vázquez Serrano, is a sommelier, master cutter, gastronomic consultant and ambassador of the best products in the world. Everything he is today, gastronomically speaking, began when he was a boy of six years old, running around inside his father's restaurant, which was called La Cantina. It was located in a factory called Buades in Mallorca with more than a thousand workers and every day it fed more than eight hundred people. Diego Vázquez González, David's father, was a chef by day and a musician by night, an artist and a lover of gastronomy who instilled in David all his knowledge from an early age.

Diego taught David how to make all kinds of sandwiches and tortillas when he was only 7 years old. At the age of 8, David helped him with the paellas until he was 15 years old and started to run the cafeteria La Juventud, owned by the family, where he created the first menu and began to develop all the knowledge that his father had taught him. In this cafeteria he worked with his father and his mother, Juana Maria Serrano Rodriguez, also a cook, and together they began this adventure where he learned a lot from both, until he was seventeen years old when he began to be moonlighting as he opened the cafeteria of another owner and closed the cafeteria of his father.

During this time he perfected the cutting of Iberian ham, which his father had been teaching him for the previous years. From the age of 28 to 30 he stopped working to train in Sales Techniques, Executive Coaching, Communication for Trainers, Development of Commercial Negotiation Skills, Sales Techniques and as a sommelier at the University of the Balearic Islands. These trainings were given by the European Community for all those professionals who wanted to continue their training. At the age of 30, he set up the company Tu Corte Ibérico, specialising in acorn-fed Iberian hams, master ham cutters, artisan cheeses, cured meats, top quality wines, exclusive personalised events and training in wine tasting, ham cutting, pairing and gastronomic advice. He was on the cover of the gastronomy magazine Mallorca Heute 2011, has carried out events for King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia in the sailing competitions 2012, 2013 in Palma de Mallorca and ham cutter for the national television programme Sálvame on channel tele5 in 2014.

Some of the world's richest people, football players, actors and celebrities require his services. In 2019 he created the brand and international seal David Serrano, ambassador of the best products in the world, registered in 30 countries and endorsed by some of the best and most expensive products in the world, such as AurumRed wine, La Dehesa Maladúa ham, Sobrasada Cannot and Pan Piña bakery, owners of the most expensive bread in the world. He designed the most expensive pairing in the world, valued at 80,000 euros for 8 people for the ham factory of the Dehesa Maladúa brand. In 2021 he created the project to elevate the Dominican Republic's gastronomy called Marca País gastronomic project.

In 2022 he founded the brand of acorn-fed hams, David Serrano, a special selection of the best pieces of jabugo and cumbres mayores. Currently he continues to work as director of the company Tu Corte Ibérico, gastronomic advisor to several companies and is the International Gastronomy correspondent for the programme Sabrina en fin de semana of the international television channel Telemicro for the Dominican Republic and the United States. He is currently promoting his book El Maridaje en la Gastronomía.
